100 Card Challenge for 2010

Some of you may know of my love of "purchasing" all the cool things that Stampin Up has to offer!  I started making more cards in 2009 and giving them away to nanny conferences as raffle prizes, made Thank You cards for a friend's bridal shower and wedding among other cards.

For 2010 I decided I was going to make 100 cards and send them out to others who would love a little pick me up! Throughout this year I will be posting the various cards that I make for this 100 card challenge.  Hopefully the folks who receive them will let me know what they think of them!

I have already reached 100 card slots. But look in the future of 2010 when I may open some more slots up!

Hope you enjoy my challenge!   If you want to purchase any of the stamp sets, inks or other items for the cards you can purchase them through my Stampin Up Website

Holiday Swap with Jeannette

So what do you all think? This is the rough draft of my card that I am making 10 of. I used the Season of Friendship and Thankful Thoughts stamp sets from SU! I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Certainly Celery for the leaves. The pumpkins were done in Pumpkin Pie. I sponged the sky and grass. This was my first time using the sponging technique-and I loved IT! The sky has 4 colors-not quite navy, night of navy, brillant blue, bashful blue. The moon/sun is done in so saffron sponging. I had made a post it note 1 inch mask and then after sponging the sky I used my sponge to color the sun/moon with so saffron. The grass is done the same way as the sky with certainly celery and always artichoke for some deeper levels of color.

I am going to pop the pumpkins and some of the leaves. I am thinking of ditching the night of navy color in the sky it is to the right of the tree.

I got the sky idea from the http://www.stampinspringer.blogspot.com/ card. It was so awesome with the snow effects etc. Since I am making this card on the plane, I could not emboss it so I altered it.

Thanks for looking. I will take a finally picture next week and post it after I get back from Seattle.

"60 Sucks"

A few weeks was my Aunt's 60th birthday. I had seen somewhere on a blog a "30 Sucks" lollipop bouqet. I thought this would be perfect for my aunt! I used a flower stamp from SU and made 60 flowers in 6 colors. I then cut them all out one night during the Democratic Convention. The next night I pushed all the Mini Tootsie Pops & Dum-Dums through the flowers. Oh I had alos made some petals from the Pick a Petal set too in three different colors. I used two straws I ripped off from Panera Bread one day to position the "60 Sucks" sign.

My aunt loved it! She takes one lollipop daily on her walk with Max, her dog.

This is such a popular gift idea that several of my friends have done it as well. One was titled "80 Sucks" and then the "50 sucks" that was made in a cardboard beer six-pack container.
